The purpose of this course is to begin a conversation and develop guidelines on how K9 Units and sUAS/Drone Units are best suited working together when it comes to searching for suspects or fugitives and lost or missing persons. So often when a K9 Unit is called out to search, several other K9 Units also arrive to assist. When a sUAS/Drone Unit is called out only one sUAS/Drone and a Remote Pilot may arrive for the search. Sometimes, depending on the size and scope of the mission/operation, more than one sUAS/Drone and Remote Pilot will respond to assist. This course is designed to highlight the advantages of having both K9 Units and sUAS/Drone Units being called out for a mission/operation together with the same philosophy when several K9 Units respond and/or several sUAS/Units respond.
